Camera Resources
I've mentioned before I'm not a DSLR kinda guy. It's not that I wouldn't like to be, but my glorified point-and-shoot cameras allow me to love them in a very Zen way. I throw them (literally) into cargo short pockets or daypacks and grab them whenever I want a shot. I'm not too attached when the zoom stops working and I throw them away.
But, this doesn't mean that I don't dream of DSLR toys for creating intense HDR images, portraits for friends or family with almost limitless resolution and 16 bit RAW files.
When I daydream about these things I like good resources and a couple of favorites are here and here. I can't attest to either of these being unbiased, but I like that have reviewers who talk the talk. I've even read a few unfavorable reviews on the Digital Photography Review site (I can't remember B&H not liking a product). their newsletter reviewers don't mind mentioning favorite toys, either. Here is a nice round-up of Zeiss lenses. Of course, one nice Zeiss lens is at least two really, really nice point and shoots, but I read about Lamborghini's MurciƩlago too.
I suspect you won't see me carrying around a DSLR bag with 3-4 lens anytime soon, though you might see me stepping up a notch to a 4/3rds camera and maybe an extra lens or two. In case you were wondering, I don't have any affiliation with either of these sites. I happen to like them and hope you might find them useful as well.
